Proper fabric care is key for long-lasting garment life so we put together a small Fabric Care Guide for you for each fabric we have used.
THE GENERAL RULE OF THUMB
- Don't mix bright colours, blacks and whites in one wash
- When in doubt - use a cold gentle or delicate machine cycle or hand wash
- Use gentle detergent
- Use lower spin settings
- When washing bright colours, especially for the first time, do a test first or use a colour run prevention sheets (or colour catchers sheets)
- Wash your garments inside out to prevent pilling or use our wonderful Laundry Bags that double up as storage and travel bags
The key here is to stay away from high temperatures during washing and ironing to avoid scorching or yellowing of natural fibers:
- Gentle cold machine cycle or hand wash, with a gentle detergent, free of bleach
- Wash inside out
- Avoid using a fabric softener
- Air-dry flat and in shade
- Use a cool iron
- Store in a hanger to avoid creasing
- Delicate or gentle cold machine cycle or hand wash, with a gentle detergent, free of bleach
- Wash inside out
- Avoid using a fabric softener
- Air-dry in shade
- No need to iron!
- Always do a patch test first
- Use a laundry bag to reduce the friction of metallic knit
- Delicate or gentle cold machine cycle or hand wash, with a gentle detergent, free of bleach
- Wash inside out
- Avoid using a fabric softener
- Air-dry in shade
- No need to iron!
- Do not expose the garment to rough surfaces
- Do not dry clean or tumble dry
Always check your lace before washing - the more delicate your piece is, the more delicately you should treat it:
- The most delicate way of washing lace is a hand wash in cool water and a mild detergent for delicates, then rinse well and gently squeeze
- Or use a delicate cold machine cycle, wash in a laundry bag (or mesh lingerie bag) and use a lower spin setting
- Use special detergent for delicate fabrics
- Air-dry in a shade flat to avoid stretching and tears
- Avoid ironing, if possible
