Bra Size Calculator that actually works!

We'd like to share our amazing discovery we made by chance (very lucky!) while searching for bra fitting advice, sizes and styles. We know how important it is for every person with breasts (any age, size and shape) to find a good-fitting bra. The bra that makes everything in the wardrobe look better? The right level of hugging support or soft touch when we need them?

Well… we found something helpful last week, and we couldn’t keep it to ourselves.

A very smart and clever woman, Freda (https://www.tiktok.com/@fredazelvey), created A BRA THAT FITS Calculator in 2021 (https://www.abrathatfits.org/calculator.php)

It’s a clever little calculator that helps you figure out your real bra size - and it has an amazing visual instruction on how to measure and where. Have you ever measured the chest while lying down and leaning?

Anyway, after doing all the measurements (and some laughs), the calculator gives the potential size you can start with, and it makes bra shopping so much easier:
- It feels like a fitting session without the awkward experience of the bra-fittings with a stranger in the shop.
- You can track the changes in your chest area and update your bra wardrobe as you need.
- The calculated size is the fantastic starting point for bra shopping (no need to start with the heaps of bras in random sizes).

This isn’t sponsored, there’s no collaboration. This is the thing we found recently that made us ridiculously happy, and we thought it might help you too.

Why the correct bra matters for your dresses and tops

We’ve always said that the right bra is the hero under any outfit. With a proper sitting bra, a wrap dress sits better, and a cowl neck drapes smoothly. Your waist looks defined without you having to tug at anything.

This is why we are so happy to share this calculator with you.
Our whole mission is to help women feel confident and comfortable in their clothes. We do it with our stretchy fabrics and signature great cuts.
But the foundation underneath plays its part too.

If a simple, free tool can make your favourite By Samantha Melbourne pieces fit even better, we’re all for it.

Try it, tell us what you think.

If you give the calculator a go, we’d honestly love to hear your experience - whether it confirmed your size or gave you a whole new info.

Sister Sizing

Have you heard that if you fit into one bra size, you can fit into several other sizes too? It is because the band size varies with the size of the cup, like a ratio. So if you go up a band size, you’ll go down a cup size, and if you go down a band size, you’ll go up a cup size.

Here’s a simple chart to figure this out – use the colours and numbers to help match the sizes. For example, if you’re a 12E, you could also fit a 10F (down a band size and up a cup size) or 14DD (up a band size and down a cup size).
